I believe that the best foundation that a child can develop in their preschool years is one of positive self-image and social competency. Preschoolers need to spend their day engaged in play. It is my mission to provide preschoolers with an environment that allows them to feel respected and safe in expressing themselves in their own unique ways.

My family childcare home has been licensed since 2018. I have a dedicated classroom space in my home that transforms with our weekly themes and provides engaging learning experiences and opportunities for play and collaboration.
Class sizes are kept small (up to six preschoolers) to allow individualized care and attention.

We spend as much time outdoors as we can. Nature plays a vital role in the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of preschoolers. Nature provides an expansive outdoor classroom that encourages movement, creativity, exploration, and engagement with peers.
Meet the Team
Mrs. Stephanie
Hi! I'm Stephanie Barclay, the owner and educator at Pumpkin Patch Preschool. I graduated from UNC in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education and have taught in Early Childhood classrooms for over 15 years. I am passionate about the power of play and getting kids outdoors. I find joy in seeing nature through the eyes of preschoolers and supporting their natural curiosity.
I am a mother of two amazing children, ages 4 & 10. As a family, we love to go camping, hiking, biking, and exploring new places.
